My Chicago FC United team was scheduled to play a Girls Academy regular season game against Salvo Soccer Club yesterday (3/18/23) but the game was canceled because of cold weather. Luckily, my dad anticipated this and signed me up to attend the Marquette University ID Camp. Both of my parents graduated from Marquette so I am very familiar with the school. I always seemed to have a conflict whenever MU would have a camp, so I haven’t been able to attend one until now. I was glad to finally get a chance to check it out.

It was fun to finally meet and work with Head Coach Frank Pelaez and Assistants Erin Scott and Paul Sikinger. I have been writing to them in advance of tournaments and showcase events for some time. Coach Pelaez was definitely fun and the Marquette camp wasn’t like some of the other’s I have attended.

I attended this camp with my friends and teammates Ava Hortillosa and Haylee Rios. After camp, we took a detour to one of my parent’s favorite places from when they were in college – Kopps. I hate a weekend without soccer, so attending the Marquette camp was just what I needed!
